BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Aidé Acosta is the Chief College Officer at Noble Schools in Chicago, leading the organization’s college access and success initiatives. She oversees key programs across 17 High Schools, including Summer of a Lifetime, College Counseling, Alumni Supports, the Alumni Career Office, and DREAMer Supports.

Dr. Acosta joined Noble in 2013, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s college vision as a foundation for creating positive multigenerational change. Her achievements include collaborating on defining anti-racism at Noble and revising policies to institutionalize best antiracist practices. Before joining Noble, Dr. Acosta taught at Northwestern University (2013-2014), Indiana University (2011-2013), and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2010-2011).

Dr. Acosta serves as a leader in the education community by collaborating with a network of practitioners and sharing proven practices to improve college outcomes for underserved populations. She was recently recognized as one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ Notable Latino Leaders. She published the op-ed "The Cost of the Anti-College Narrative for Black and Brown Students" in The Chicago Tribune. In addition to serving as a Board Member in the Latino Educators Advancing Leadership (LEAL), Dr. Acosta is part of the Chicago Advisory Council for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Dominican University’s -Chicago Campus Advisory Committee.

Born in Mexico and raised in Southern California, Dr. Acosta is a first-generation college graduate who overcame significant challenges, including dropping out of high school in 10th grade, to earn a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate. She draws on her personal experiences, deep empathy, and steadfast belief in students’ potential to drive meaningful improvements in educational outcomes for underserved students.
