BIOGRAPHY
Daniela Anello, Head of School at DC Bilingual Public Charter School (DCB), spearheads the school's strategic vision, implementation, and growth both academically and operationally.
Under her leadership since 2015, DCB has been ranked among the top two elementary charter schools by the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education and placed in the top quartile by The New Teacher Project for its exceptional instructional culture.
Daniela has been instrumental in achieving the school’s independence, acquiring and renovating its facility, and driving its strategic growth plan to serve over 700 students by 2028. Her journey with DCB began in 2009 as a Literacy Coach, and she quickly advanced to Resident Principal and Interim Principal before becoming the founding Head of School.
Daniela's teaching career began in classrooms in New York, Boston, and Washington, DC. Beyond her role at DCB, she actively contributes to numerous education-focused organizations. She is a member of the State Early Childhood Development Coordinating Council (SECDC) and serves on the boards of My School DC Common Lottery, the National Charter Collaborative, the DC Special Education Cooperative, Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, and Friends of Tenleytown Public Library.
A graduate of the New Leaders Emerging Leaders and Aspiring Principals Program, Daniela holds a Master’s degree in Literacy Specialist from Teachers College Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the State University of New York, Geneseo. Originally from Chile, Daniela resides in Washington, DC with her husband and two children, both of whom are DCB alumni.
