Michael entered the education reform world with an extensive background in elections and organizing, developed from the numerous political campaigns he has worked on over the years, including serving as the political director of the successful 2012 statewide referendum to create a state authorizer of charter schools in Georgia. Prior to working in education advocacy, Michael spent six years as the director of legislative affairs for the Georgia Secretary of State.
A proud graduate of the University of Georgia, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in economics. He currently resides in Marietta, Georgia with his wife of nearly 20 years, their two children and an energetic labrador named Rizzo.
