BIOGRAPHY
Tresha is the Chief Executive Officer of Prospect Schools, a network of intentionally diverse charter schools, currently serving over 2,200 students across Brooklyn, NY. Tresha Ward has nearly two decades of experience working to create excellent schools and ensure educational equity for the most underserved students in communities across the nation. A Bronx native and daughter of West Indian immigrants, Tresha began her career as a TFA corps member in the Houston. In 2010, she opened KIPP Legacy Preparatory School in Northeast Houston with an International Baccalaureate focus ? and grew the school to serve 900+ children. Tresha then served as the School Leader Development Director for the KIPP Foundation providing support to 200+ of KIPP?s school leaders across the country through the creation of leadership development programming and direct coaching. She also supported academic strategy across several KIPP regions in Texas. Afterward Tresha returned to schools as the Managing Director of Schools for KIPP NYC and focused on principal management and school turnaround. Following her tenure with KIPP, she joined Bellwether Education Partners developing the organization?s national Academic & Program Strategy practice focused on strategic planning for school start-up, replication, and improvement. As a Partner with Bellwether, Tresha grew the practice area to a five person team that directly served over a 100 education organizations, generated $600-$1M in revenue, and secured several repeat or multi-year contracts. Tresha is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (BA) and Stanford University (MA).
