In 2013, Baker College Prep (Baker) opened its doors in South Chicago, a neighborhood on Chicago’s southside. Baker is named after famed civil rights leader Ella Baker. Baker’s 260 students predominantly call South Chicago and the surrounding neighborhoods home. The dedicated staff at Baker aim to create an environment where students thrive academically, achieve equitable access to opportunities, and develop confidence as learners so that students are prepared to graduate from college and lead choice-filled lives.
